U15 Boys Ulster School Table TennisChampions
The U15 boys team beat Ballymena Academy in the final on Thursday 25th November.
They will now represent Ulster in the All Ireland Finals next year. Team members:

Congratulation Joanne
Barry Flynn from Monaghan Rotary Club making the presentation to
the winner of the Monaghan Rotary Club Youth Leadership competition Joanne Wylie.
Also in the photo is Mr Johnston Reid.
Candidates from the secondary schools in Monaghan took part in the interviews for the Rotary Youth Leader. Joanne then represented the Monaghan Club in the Regional Finals where she won 1st place.
Joanne will now participate in a week long Leadership Development Programme, where she will spend 3 days in Belfast and Dublin before setting off for the European Parliment in Strasbourg to play a part in the Euroscola Programme in March 2011.
She will join 600 other students from most counteries across the European Union.

New modules introduced to TY this term:
Diversity : A programme run in the school as part of the Monaghan Schools Peace and Reconciliation Project. It includes various aspects of diversity.
Safety: A course certified by the Health and Safety Authority of Ireland. It is an education programme which involves Student Safety at Work.
Keyboard Skills: Introducing students to the correct use of the keyboard. It will be a certified course with exams at the end of the year. Students will be taking the exam with the Commercial Examination Board of Ireland.

Open night on the 13th October was exceptionally well attended. Mr Reid announced some major changes in timetabling for the incoming 1st yr students in Sept 2011.All 'choice' subjects will now be sampled for a period during 1st year. Students will choose, the subjects that they wish to study for Junior Certificate, at the beginning of 2nd year.
