Junior Certificate students after having received their excellent exam results

Study Club – Commenced on Monday 14 September 2009.

(Below is an extract from the letter sent to parents)
This is a huge advantage for pupils preparing for the school state examinations. Imagine knowing that your son or daughter had completed the required study each evening in appropriate surroundings. No arguments at home, less pressure prior to the pre examinations in February or the State Examinations in June.

There are at present about 25 students attending study club for 4 evenings per week. The students have acknowledged that it is an excellent opportunity to get some serious study completed and that they find it much easier to concentrate than at home, where there are other distractions.

Transition Year students started their training with
Youth Link. Some of the topics in this course are 'Handling Life's Conflicts' and 'Understanding Diversity in Society'. Two facilitators visit the school each week and spend time with the students. As part of this course they spent a week in the Share Centre in Lisnaskea. More information on website: www.youthlink.org

04/09/09 Visit to the school by the Bulgarian Ambassador and members of the Monaghan Rotary Club. The official party were entertained by the students in music and song before the official welcome took place.

Open Evening
A very successful
Open Evening was held on the 14th October. A lot of local parents and students showed interest in the school and indeed our enrolement for Sept 2010 is nearly full. If you are interested in enrolling your son/daughter in our school it would be essential to contact the school immediately

.

21st October

held in the County Museum on

Transition Year pupils are currently participating in a ‘Youth Link Cross Border Project’
