Monaghan Collegiate School has once again won the Ulster Table Tennis finals.

On wednesday 5th October Imata Mlanda, Brian Dunn and Nathan Hall were selected to represent Monaghan Collegiate School for Senior Soccer trials at Gortakeegan, Monaghan. All pupils were successful and were asked back the following day for an
Inter-County challenge match v Donegal schools.

On the 12th October Mr Pollock, Mr Mc Donald and Yvonne brought fifty 2nd year C.S.P.E. students to visit Leinster House as guests of Heather Humphreys (Fine Gael T.D.) They were given a guided tour of the building including the Dail and Seanad chambers.
In the afternoon they visited the European House to learn more about Ireland's role in Europe.
The students had a valuable insight into the day to day events in the Houses of the Oireachtas and even got a 'wave' from the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny during a Dail debate.
Form 3 C.S.P. E. Action project was based on Human Rights. They invited a guest speaker from Amnesty International to give a talk to the students.
George White (The Fabric Centre) kindly sponsored new Rugby jerseys for the Monaghan Collegiate team.

Open night for pupils transferring to Post Primary Education in September 2012
took place on Tuesday 8 November 2011.
Evening commenced with a talk from the Principal Mr. Johnston Reid and followed by a tour of the school. Parents & pupils had an opportunity to meet with pupils & staff. Tea & refreshments were served.

Monaghan Collegiate School opened a new five classroom block on Monday 12 September, the official opening was performed by the Archbishop of Dublin The Most Revd. Dr. Michael Jackson. The Board of Governors of the school have decided to name the classroom block 'The Jackson Building' in honour of Archbishop Jackson’s contribution to the life of the school during his time as Bishop of Clogher and Chairman of the Board of Governors.
In his opening remarks, the Principal Mr Reid commented that he only had the privilege of working with the then Bishop Jackson for a few months, but in that short time he found him to be a man of great wisdom and integrity with a genuine warmth and humanity; a true friend of this school
Mr Reid thanked all those who worked on the project, and paid tribute to his predecessor Mr Hall for his vision and astute financial management in planning the project and securing substantial funding from the Department of Education and Skills. To that end Mr Reid also paid tribute to the support he had from the Aisling Yates and Mary Monaghan in the Department.
Mr Reid was fulsome in his praise of his Board of Governors noting that both the property committee and the finance committee had been a tower of strength to him. He continued to thank Teddy Duffy, and Aidrain Forde( Doohamlet Construction) Stephen Moffett( Moffett Architectural) Marcus Dancey, (CS Pringle, Consulting Engineers) and Stephen Finch (Semple & McKillop Engineers). Part of the project involved the creation of a gym for the use of one of the students David Stoops. Mr Reid thanked David’s physiotherapist Janet Sibbery for all her help and advice.
