Curriculum
JUNIOR CERTIFICATE PROGRMME
It is our policy to provide the widest education possible to our students and to develop each pupil’s potential to the full.
We are committed to developing special abilities and interests of each pupil.
Class sizes rarely exceed 20 allowing teachers to have greater opportunity for personal contact with pupils.
Pupils entering First Year follow a three-year course for the Junior Certificate Examination, followed by our Transition Year and a two-year course for the Leaving Certificate Examination.





JUNIOR CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME
Examinations are offered in 16 Junior Certificate subjects:
Compulsory Subjects:
Irish, English, Maths, Science, Geography,CSPE and Religious Knowledge
Choice Subjects:
French, Material Technology – Metal, Business Studies, Technical Graphics, Home Economics, History, Material Technology – Wood , Art and Music.
Additional Subjects:
The curriculum is further enhanced by participation in: Choir, Health Education, Physical Education, Relationship and Sexuality Education, Information Technology (Computers) Social and Personal Health Education and Study Skills.
In addition to the formal P.E. programmes, pupils are actively encouraged to take part in the wide variety of optional sports; Badminton, Basketball, Table-Tennis, Horse riding, Tennis, Soccer and Rugby are played competitively. Teams in most sports are entered into Ulster and National League events.
