Mission Statement



The choice of school for your child is one of the most important and influential decisions a parent has to make. The education of the individual child will shape his or her life. It will influence academic success, social relationships and moral well being. All children deserve the best educational opportunities and this is reflected in the School Mission Statement.

ADMISSION POLICY

Completed application forms together with a recent School report, Birth Certificate and two passport photos signed on the back by the pupil should be sent to the Administration Department.

The School admits pupils in accordance with its ethos and in accordance with the Department of Education and Science regulations concerning age and previous schooling. In accordance with these regulations the school is academically non-selective.

Pupils are required to reach the age of 12 by the end of December in their first year at the school and are also required to have completed in National School sixth Standard or its equivalent.

GENERAL APPEARANCE

Pupils are expected to maintain a high standard in their personal appearance.

Full uniform must be worn when travelling to and from the School as members of School teams and when engaged in School event

Only School and Youth Organisation badges may be worn.

Make-up is not permitted.

A pupil will not be permitted to stay in school if appropriate uniform is not worn.

EDUCATIONAL POLICY


School Rules & Regulations and Policies are available on admission to the school. A brief outline of the Code of Behaviour is detailed below.

Our code of behaviour is designed to encourage the formation of character and encourages values that promote good citizenship, operated in a fair and transparent manner.

Pupils should comport themselves with courtesy and consideration. A standard of behaviour, which brings credit to the individual pupil and the school, is expected at all times.


Bullying will not be tolerated in any shape or form in Monaghan Collegiate School.
