Ski Trip to Austria by Olivia Swetak
We arrived in Austria at the Sonnenburg hotel on the first night. The scenery was so different from home. The gardens were so full of snow that only the top of the swings could be seen. We started skiing the next morning. I was quite nervous but by the end of the week I was upset to leave. After a couple of days we were taken to the red slopes. I never thought I'd ever get down them as I am quite scared of heights but I loved it!! On the last night we recieved medals and a certificate for completing a race on the last day.
In the evenings there were many different activities. There was a school from Keady staying in the same hotel so it was fun just to sit and talk to them, not that we had much free time!!On the first night we had a table quiz, which was good fun. One night we went to a ski show and we had pizza afterwards.Going to the Zugspitte ( the highest mountain in Germany) was amazing. The view was nothing like I've ever seen before so I made sure to take plenty of pictures to show everyone back home. Other activities which were arranged for us were: air rifle shooting, ice skating, a visit to a music cafe and a pool competition. We even had a special celebration for Shona'a birthday. On the last day we went on a sight seeing trip to Innsbruck. It was lovely to get some time to do some shopping!!. We were kept busy all day, every day!!
The last night will not be forgotten for a long time. We had a fancy dress disco and we all had a fantstic laugh. All in all I loved Austria 2012 and would go back again tomorrow.
