Temple Street Children’s Hospital Fundraiser.
Monaghan Collegiate School had a very special visitor to school on Monday 10th February 2020 to accept a cheque in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital – James Moore, whose sister Rebecca is a 2nd Year student, had been a patient in St Gabriel’s Ward in the Hospital recuperating from a serious illness.
The fundraising events were organised by the Student Council and Transition Year Students. The events included a ‘Christmas Card’ completion and sale of the winning cards, Christmas Jumper day and Carol Service. The whole school community enthusiastically supported the activities and it was wonderful to have James and his parents Simon and Heather come to the school to receive the cheque personally in the sum of €1650.
James aged 10 yrs approx has felt so fortunate to benefit from expert medical care at Temple Street Hospital so he is planning a Tractor Run fundraiser on Easter Monday at Combi-lift Monaghan and the details will be announced shortly.
