International Students Prospectus
For many years our school has welcomed pupils from all over the world. Our intimate school setting and excellent teaching and learning facilities has attracted students from the following countries: Italy, Spain, Germany, Finland, United States of America, South Africa, Canada, Iceland, Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, China and Japan. Some students have stayed to successfully complete their Leaving Certificate and gone on to University both in Ireland and abroad.

Monaghan County Council History Essay Writing Competition 2025
Monaghan Collegiate School History Department is delighted to have been awarded the Cathaoirleach Shield for the second year running in recognition of the exceptional quality of the entries received from our pupils in the Monaghan County Council History Essay Writing Competition 2025.
Congratulations to Jack Mackarel (Form 5) who came first in the Senior Cycle competition for his essay on ‘Stonebridge’ and Toms Milhailovs (Form 1) who came third in the Junior Cycle competition for his essay on ‘Monaghan Courthouse’. We are very proud of these achievements. Well done!
